Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the 2027 election in Gombe State.
Pantami was announced as the party’s candidate on Tuesday during a gathering attended by former Gombe State governor and senator, Ibrahim Dankwambo.
The former minister reportedly secured the PDP ticket after withdrawing from the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary and subsequently approaching PDP leaders in the state to seek the party’s governorship nomination.
DAILY POST recalls that Pantami served as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy under former President Muhammadu Buhari between 2019 and 2023.
