Manchester City have narrowed Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League to three points following a 2-1 win on Sunday.
Arsenal arrived at the Etihad Stadium with a six-point advantage after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth, while City had boosted their momentum with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chelsea.
City took the lead through Ryan Cherki, who produced a brilliant solo effort. However, Arsenal responded immediately as Kai Havertz capitalized on a moment of hesitation from Gianluigi Donnarumma to level the score straight from the restart.
Despite Arsenal enjoying a strong spell of dominance, Erling Haaland netted the decisive goal in the second half to hand City all three points.
The result leaves Pep Guardiola’s side within touching distance of the summit, with the opportunity to go top if they secure victory against Burnley next Wednesday.
