EPL: Rooney picks teams to finish in top five

Former player Wayne Rooney has predicted how the top positions in the Premier League table could finish this season.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Stick to Football podcast, the former Manchester United striker named the clubs he believes will occupy the top spots by the end of the campaign.

Ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, Arsenal leads the table with 67 points. They are followed by Manchester City on 60 points, while Manchester United and Aston Villa are both on 51 points. Chelsea and Liverpool sit close behind with 48 points each.

Rooney said he expects City, Arsenal, and United to secure the first three positions in the standings.

“So I think Man City, Arsenal, and United will finish in the top three,” Rooney said.

However, he expressed uncertainty about Villa’s chances of maintaining a place among the leading teams.

“I’m not sure about Villa. I think Chelsea and Liverpool will complete the top five, and Villa will miss out,” he added.

The top five clubs in England will qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
