Victor Osimhen’s club, Galatasaray S.K., secured a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg clash on Tuesday.
Mario Lemina scored the decisive goal just seven minutes into the encounter, handing the Turkish champions a crucial home win.
Galatasaray thought they had doubled their lead later in the match when Osimhen found the back of the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Liverpool also came close to scoring, with Hugo Ekitike denied by a brilliant save from the Galatasaray goalkeeper. The English side later had an equalizer disallowed after a handball was detected in the build-up.
With the result, Galatasaray will head into the second leg with a slender advantage when they visit Anfield on March 18, 2026.
