The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) has announced the commencement of payment of February 2026 salaries to federal government treasury-funded employees.
In a statement issued to Nigerian Newssphere on Monday, the Director of Press at the OAGF, Bawa Mokwa, confirmed that the salary disbursement began on Monday, March 2, 2026.
The office attributed the delay in paying the February salaries to a technical glitch, noting that the issue has now been resolved. It added that measures have been put in place to ensure such delays do not occur again.
The OAGF also disclosed that it has secured approval and completed the payment process for one month’s wage award arrears out of the three months currently outstanding.
The development follows concerns and complaints from Nigerian workers over the delay in the payment of their February salaries.
