Amara, the second daughter of the founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, is reportedly preparing to press charges against her father over allegations of physical assault.
The development comes amid an ongoing public dispute between Okafor and Nollywood actress Doris Ogala. As previously reported by Daily Post, Ogala accused the cleric in December of failing to fulfill a marriage promise following what she described as an eight-year intimate relationship. She also made additional allegations involving his conduct with married church members.
Okafor had denied the claims and subsequently had the actress arrested. After her release, Ogala said she rejected an alleged $10,000 settlement offered by the pastor during a meeting at a police station.
In an update shared on her Instagram page on Friday, Ogala claimed that Amara is now ready to take legal action against Okafor, alleging that she was assaulted after confronting him over issues at home involving church members.
Ogala, who said she is close to Amara, shared videos and alleged that the incident involved severe physical abuse. She accused the cleric of mistreating his daughter and described the incident as a serious criminal matter, adding that Amara has decided to pursue justice.
Neither Pastor Chris Okafor nor his representatives have publicly responded to the latest allegations as of the time of filing this report.
This comes after the failed marriage and promise accusation leveled against Chris Okafor by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, for which he later apologized.
