Manchester City staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Liverpool 2-1 in their English Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday, closing the gap on league leaders Arsenal.
Liverpool took the lead in the 74th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai curled home a superb free kick to send the home fans into celebration.
City, however, responded strongly and was rewarded when Bernardo Silva restored parity, setting up a tense finale to the encounter.
The visitors completed the turnaround deep into stoppage time, as Erling Haaland calmly converted a penalty in the 90th minute to hand Pep Guardiola’s side all three points.
Moments later, Liverpool’s Szoboszlai was shown a red card for a late challenge on Haaland during injury time.
The victory takes Manchester City to 50 points, cutting Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table to six points, with the Gunners still leading on 56 points.
