Sit-at-home cancellation: We won, they suffered defeat—APC chieftain, Igbokwe mocks IPOB

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has said those he described as “butchers” in the South-East have realized that their efforts amounted to nothing following the cancellation of the Monday sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Igbokwe made the remark on Sunday while reacting to IPOB’s announcement ending the sit-at-home directive across the region.

In a post on his Facebook page titled “No place to hide anymore in Igboland,” the APC chieftain claimed that those behind the sit-at-home had suffered an unexpected defeat and were now the same people calling it off.

According to him, there is “no place to hide anymore” in the Southeast, insisting that the campaign had failed despite the damage it caused to the region.

Igbokwe, who used strong language in his post, accused those he blamed for the sit-at-home of disgracing and setting the South-East back by decades through violence, fear, and economic disruption.

He said the next challenge was for relevant authorities to determine how to address the aftermath of the sit-at-home and prevent a recurrence.

Igbokwe raised questions about how to “clean up the mess” left behind, how to ensure those responsible are brought to justice, and how to stop such actions from resurfacing in the future.

He stressed that the issue should now be handled decisively by authorities to restore normalcy and safeguard the region from further setbacks.

“They have suffered a crushing defeat they never expected. Did you see one of the butchers of SE, the compound illiterates and the murderers, the empty heads, one of the children of hate reading the address, the vagabonds of SE, the dregs of SE, the worst of the SE telling us what to do in the land of educated champions, men and women? We have won the battle.”

Nigerian Newsphere reports that IPOB cancelled Monday’s sit-at-home permanently in a statement on Sunday.
