2027: They don’t have numbers- Amaechi reveals why he’s better than Atiku, Peter Obi

Former Minister of Transportation and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has ordered his supporters to stay away from social media clashes ahead of the party’s presidential primary.

Amaechi gave the directive during the ADC “Progressive Movement” meeting in Lagos, where he also took subtle swipes at supporters of Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar.

According to him, while rival camps continue to trade insults online, his loyalists have been instructed to maintain discipline and avoid engaging in digital confrontations.

“My supporters don’t engage in fights on social media. Have you seen any Amaechi supporter fighting online? It’s between Atiku people and Obi people. Obi supporters abuse me, but we will never reply,” he said.

He stressed that the restraint is not out of inability to respond but a deliberate strategy to maintain unity ahead of the contest.

“It’s not because we don’t know what to say or can’t reply. We choose peace. The Obidients say ‘Obi or nothing’—do they have the numbers? The Atiku camp says “Atiku or nothing”—do they also have the numbers?” he queried.

Amaechi added that his camp is focused on winning the ADC presidential ticket without creating divisions that could weaken the party.

“When you win, it becomes difficult to unite everyone if you’ve been attacking them. Because we believe we will win, we are not abusing anybody. We want to bring everyone together,” he said.

He further emphasized that his team remains under strict instructions to avoid any form of verbal attacks within the party.

“My team is under permanent instruction—don’t abuse anybody in ADC. I am careful with what I say,” he added.
