The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has promised Nigerians four functional refineries and 75,000 megawatts of electricity if elected on January 16, 2027.
He disclosed this on Tuesday during the unveiling of his presidential manifesto in Abuja.
In his remarks, Adebayo said his plan was to ensure that no Nigerian buys Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, or any other petroleum product at international prices.
He noted that Nigerians should not pay more than N200 per litre for petrol.
“The plan is to have four functional refineries in Nigeria and generate 75,000 megawatts of electricity.
“No Nigerian should be living in Nigeria and buying petrol at international prices. That is why we have arrived at N200 per litre for petrol,” he said.
Adebayo also said the elites at the Presidential Villa and state government houses are among Nigeria’s major problems.
According to him, bad leadership has been Nigeria’s primary problem since 1999.
“It is the men in the Villa, government houses, that are the problem of Nigeria.
“We are promising that in four years we will defeat insecurity. When you use your vote in 2027 to change the government, you have a chance of defeating 60 percent of bandits.”
He challenged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to a public debate ahead of the presidential election.
“The first challenge is for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come out to debate,” he said.
Earlier, the National Chairman of the SDP, Prof. Sadiq Gombe, said the opposition party’s presidential manifesto is hinged on tackling insecurity, boosting production and guaranteeing prosperity for Nigerians.
“For too long, Nigerians have been asked to endure without results,” he stated.
He noted that if the SDP is elected, Nigerians can be secure, productive and prosperous.
