The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has approved the promotion of 523 staff members across various cadres in its 2025 promotion exercise.
The Director-General of NIMC, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday by the Commission’s spokesperson, Kayode Adegoke. She said the exercise aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Commission’s commitment to rewarding merit and performance.
According to Coker-Odusote, the promotions form part of the statutory performance reward system for staff who sat for the promotion examinations and met all prerequisites as outlined in the Public Service Rules (PSR).
A breakdown of the exercise showed that two staff members were elevated to the Director cadre (Grade Level 17), while eight were promoted to Deputy Director (GL 16). Thirty-five officers moved to the rank of Assistant Director (GL 15), with another 35 promoted to Chief Identity Officer (GL 14).
In addition, 109 staff advanced to Assistant Chief Identity Officer (GL 13), 113 to Principal Identity Officer (GL 12), 82 to Senior Identity Officer (GL 10), and 130 to Identity Officer I (GL 9).
The NIMC boss congratulated the newly promoted staff and urged them to view the advancement as an opportunity to render better service to the nation. She reiterated the Commission’s zero-tolerance stance on extortion and warned all staff to desist from such practices.
Coker-Odusote also encouraged employees to redouble their efforts in 2026 to ensure the successful implementation of the National Identification Number (NIN) project. She reaffirmed her commitment to staff welfare and to upholding the dignity of labour within the Commission.
