Bashir Ahmad, former presidential aide to late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has accused MTN Nigeria of cheating Nigerians over data billing.
He disclosed this in a statement on his X account on Thursday.
According to Ahmad, there is no way his 56GB data could have been depleted in a single day when he did not engage in heavy data usage.
Ahmad thereafter urged the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to seriously look into the matter.
He added that Nigerians deserve accurate billing and value for money spent on data or other telecommunications services.
“Our regulator, @NgComCommission, should seriously look into @MTNNG’s data billing and warn them to stop cheating Nigerians. There is absolutely no way I could have used 56GB in a single day when I didn’t do any heavy data-consuming activity. Additionally, whenever I am at home, my phone automatically connects to Wi-Fi. So MTN needs to explain how this 56GB was supposedly consumed ooo. Nigerians deserve accurate billing and value for our money,” he wrote.
