A fire broke out at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday, prompting an emergency response from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
FAAN confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its official X handle, saying its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) had been deployed to the scene to contain the blaze.
The authority assured the public that there were no reported casualties or loss of life.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform the public that a fire incident has occurred at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
“The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation,” the statement read.
FAAN said efforts were ongoing to bring the fire under control, while further details on the cause of the incident were yet to be disclosed.
