A mild drama unfolded at the venue of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, national convention in Abuja on Saturday after delegates reportedly arrived to find the event center occupied by a wedding reception.
The incident occurred at Chelsea Hotel, Central Business District, Abuja, where both events were apparently scheduled to take place.
An eyewitness, Jimoh Ibrahim, told Nigerian Newssphere that delegates who had gathered for the party’s convention were unable to gain access to the venue because a wedding reception was still ongoing.
According to him, the situation led to confusion as delegates and wedding guests struggled to navigate the venue, forcing party members to remain outside while awaiting the conclusion of the reception.
As of the time of filing this report, the convention had yet to commence, with delegates waiting for the hall to become available.
Neither the leadership of the Zenith Labour Party nor the management of the hotel had issued an official statement regarding the development.
The Zenith Labour Party is led by its national chairman, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu.
