President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday removed Wale Edun from his position as minister of finance and appointed Taiwo Oyedele as his replacement.
The development was communicated through an official memo signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.
According to the directive, the move forms part of efforts to enhance governance efficiency through the immediate redeployment of portfolios.
A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the SGF on Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, confirmed that Edun has been instructed to hand over all responsibilities to Oyedele, who now assumes office as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
