Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, on Wednesday held a breakfast meeting in Abuja with the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and diplomats from the European Union, Germany, Canada, and France.
Obi disclosed the engagement in a post on X, describing it as an “enriching discussion on relationships.”
“Today in Abuja, I had a breakfast meeting with some diplomats that included the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and his colleagues from the European Union, Germany, Canada, and France. It was an enriching discussion on relationships,” he wrote.

Although details of the meeting were not made public, the development comes amid increasing interactions between Nigerian political stakeholders and the international community.
The meeting also comes against the backdrop of early political realignments ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general election.
Obi, who emerged as a prominent opposition figure in the 2023 presidential election, has remained active in national conversations, particularly on governance and economic reforms.
