The Opta Supercomputer has downgraded Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League following the latest round of results over the weekend.
Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a surprising 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium, a result that dented their title hopes. Following the loss, Arsenal’s probability of lifting the trophy has dropped to 87.26%.
In contrast, Manchester City strengthened their position in the title race with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday. The win has seen City’s chances rise to 12.74%, according to Opta’s latest projections.
Meanwhile, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Liverpool have all been ruled out of the title race, with the Supercomputer giving them no chance of finishing top.
The title picture could shift further when City host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, a fixture that may prove decisive in the race for the crown.
